One of the original Rías Baixas Albariños -- in fact, it is the original, as the first bottled Albariño to carry the D.O. Rías Baixas designation. This wine helped usher in the wider appreciation of the wines of Galicia and the general Age of Albariño that we all get to enjoy today. And the wine, thankfully, is still one of the best and an absolute textbook of what to expect from this grape variety - easily Spain's best (unfortified!) white wine and one of the top white wine regions in Europe. Grown on the Atlantic coast at just a few feet above sea level, this wine is as brisk and refreshing as possible. Deeply minerally (granite & schist), with peach, mango, and lime zest qualities. And fitting with its origin in one of the world's greatest fishing zones, it's also pretty hard to beat as a pairing with seafood. -- James
