An old winery of Cistercian origin, recently purchased and revamped by the team at CVNE - the historic Rioja house. These are small, terraced vineyards of Mencía and Godello on chalk & slate at 600m in Valdeorras, inland Galicia. The wine is deeply colored, full of spicy black fruit, but fresh, vibrant and mineral and with fine-tannins. Native yeast, no oak.
